Earle House, Bilton Grange Preparatory School

Earle House, at Bilton Grange Preparatory School in Warwickshire, is a pioneering boarding house redefining 21st-century school living.  Designed for 7 to 13-year olds, it balances flexibility, fun, and wellbeing with a home-from-home feel for 85 pupils and 5 staff families.

Set within stunning parkland, the building steps down the landscape, sitting seamlessly beside the Grade II* listed Pugin mansion.  It is an innovative design in a sensitive environment that refers to the historic building in a creative and modern way – inspired by castles, with arrowslots, moats, and turrets arranged around a central courtyard.  Inside, light and airy ensuite bedrooms, vibrant hub spaces, and a striking dining hall bring warmth and energy – alongside the show-stopping helter-skelter slide!  It also includes a 30% biodiversity net gain, and renewable energy throughout.

Earle House is more than a building – it’s architecture that puts joy at the heart of learning.  And when staff and parents stepped inside for the first time, here’s what they had to say…

“It has an amazing feel to it, it feels like home from home”

“Every detail has been thought about, and you really get that feeling when you walk in”

“It’s spacious, it’s modern, it’s perfect really – it’s the future of boarding”

TSH Architects won an invited competition for the new boarding house in 2022, and we are proud to have continued our partnership with Rugby School.  Earle House was completed in 2025.
