New sixth form centre officially opened

The new sixth form building for St. Benedict’s Catholic High School, Alcester, was officially opened on Thursday 30th June by the Archbishop of Birmingham, Rev. Bernard Longley.

The event was attended by members of the design team, including Nick Hardy and Lester Whitby, the contractor, school staff, past and present pupils and other local dignitories.

The new hall was put to good use for the occasion, providing a perfect venue for the buffet lunch that followed. Guided tours of the building were offered which were well received by the guests.

St. Benedict’s can now look forward to welcoming their first sixth form students in September.
